In home euthanasia allows you and your companion animal to avoid a stressful and emotionally difficult experience traveling to a veterinary hospital. Instead your pet is allowed to pass on in the comfort of its own home.
The service is performed in your home where your pet is most comfortable in his/her own surroundings. After you and your pet are settled – in a familiar bed, outside on the grass, or any favorite resting place that is comfortable to you, your family, and your pet, a sedative injection is administered which will prevent any pain or anxiety. During the short time the sedative is taking effect, you and your family are encouraged to talk to and comfort your pet.
When your pet is fully sedated, an intravenous injection is administered that will quickly stop the heart, breathing, and consciousness. You are welcome to be present, or you may leave the area during this procedure.
